One of the things that I keep in the back of my mind while journaling is this idea that one day, my grandkids or great grandkids may be able to read them and know something about me. Sure my journal contains some of my inner most thoughts, but hey, when you’re dead, you probably won’t be embarrassed. Morbid, I know, but you get the point. I love this idea that bumping around in their attic they may uncover a dusty trunk full of notebooks that were passed down from their mom’s mom and so on. My journals not only keep me sane, they are my story. And who better to tell it than me?
So … when I first put together The Writer’s Muse in May, I really just meant for it to be a one off workshop. I had no idea that the energy we created would become a space where writers wanted to return and grow and continue to push boundaries on their creativity. When asked if there would be another, it seems I had no choice!
Though I know we all may have varying religious backgrounds it's important to be grounded within something. For me it's being grounded in Christ but for you, it may just be grounded within your soul. Either way, for this last week, I want you to dig deep, connect, feel and be able to express it in these pages.
Week three is all about reflection on love and relationships. It’s one of the most universal topics there are and something that most of us are dealing with, longing for, and trying to figure out. We’ve loved hard, we’ve loved and lost and everything in between. Let’s revel in love a little this week if that’s okay?
If you missed weeks one and two, don’t worry, just jump in where you are!
Week two is all about personal growth. I am big on that. Although we are fearfully and wonderfully made, we also battle with our flesh on the regular basis. As we work to become more refined versions of ourselves, it never hurts to do a heart check and see where we’ve been and where we’re going!
If you missed week one, don’t worry, join in wherever you are! We’re writing every day for the month of August!
So I have prepared for you a month load of prompts for August! Grab a journal and follow along! The prompts will be posted on my blog every Monday, but you can also opt in below to have them sent directly to your email! Sign up below! I can not wait to share in this with you! Make sure you use the hashtag #writerswritewld so I can see excerpts of what you may be working on!
