Writing Our Stories

Writing Our Stories

One of the things that I keep in the back of my mind while journaling is this idea that one day, my grandkids or great grandkids may be able to read them and know something about me. Sure my journal contains some of my inner most thoughts, but hey, when you’re dead, you probably won’t be embarrassed. Morbid, I know, but you get the point. I love this idea that bumping around in their attic they may uncover a dusty trunk full of notebooks that were passed down from their mom’s mom and so on. My journals not only keep me sane, they are my story. And who better to tell it than me?

WRITE | The Writer, The Brand

As you may already know I've started promoting my upcoming e-course The Writer, The Brand and I'm so looking forward to helping other writers on this journey! The Writer, The Brand is everything I wish someone told me when I was first starting instead of having to feel my way around in the dark! Writers no longer have to go through the newsroom to get their writing to the masses. We'll explore an alternative which is creating a robust blog.

Though I know we all may have varying religious backgrounds it's important to be grounded within something. For me it's being grounded in Christ but for you, it may just be grounded within your soul. Either way, for this last week, I want you to dig deep, connect, feel and be able to express it in these pages.

Writers Write | Week Three

Writers Write | Week Three

Week three is all about reflection on love and relationships. It’s one of the most universal topics there are and something that most of us are dealing with, longing for, and trying to figure out. We’ve loved hard, we’ve loved and lost and everything in between. Let’s revel in love a little this week if that’s okay?

If you missed weeks one and two, don’t worry, just jump in where you are!

Writers Write | Week Two

Week two is all about personal growth. I am big on that. Although we are fearfully and wonderfully made, we also battle with our flesh on the regular basis. As we work to become more refined versions of ourselves, it never hurts to do a heart check and see where we’ve been and where we’re going!

If you missed week one, don’t worry, join in wherever you are! We’re writing every day for the month of August!

Getting into Writers Write, I personally feel that writers should write all the time. It’s a great way to constantly come up with new ideas and just to be able to express yourself even when you are not writing for an audience. Many people have asked me how I am able to write every single day! I am not talking about just blog posts, but in addition to blogging, I write in my journal.  I distinctly remember someone responding to a tweet of mine that I write every day with, “About what?” lol. What can someone possibly write about every day? Any and everything!
